Online streaming service Netflix said that the latest fourth season of the popular series ‘Stranger Things’ has set a new record which has watched for more than 1.15 billion hours.
The horror drama series ‘Stranger Things’ has become the most popular English language series on Netflix, the only other series to be watched on Netflix for over a billion hours is South Korea’s ‘Squid Game’.
The streaming service added that Stranger Things is also number one in Netflix’s top 10 lists in 91 countries, for the first time an English-language TV series set such record.
Shortly after the final episodes of the fourth season of the series aired, Stranger Things also broke the Nelson Streaming record for the most-watched show in a week.
Between May 30 and June 5, the series aired for 7.2 billion minutes, with this Stranger Things easily topping the charts.
The fourth season of the show ended with the last two episodes released last week, which attracted a large number of viewers to Netflix at the same time, and as a result, the online streaming service crashed.
The latest season of Stinger Things not only broke several records, but also topped a song sung by American singer Kate Bush in 1985, 37 years after its release.
His song “Running Up Date Hill” has been included in the fourth season of Stranger Things.
The song has topped the US music charts since the series was released on May 27 this year, and thanks to the Netflix series, the song has gained new young audiences.
The first season of Stranger Things aired on Netflix in 2016, followed by the second season in 2017 and the third season in 2019.
