Japanese motorcycle makers have raised prices by up to Rs 23,000, citing rising raw material prices due to the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar.
According to media reports, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL) has added Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000 which has come into effect from June 1.
Thus the new price of GD110S is Rs.212,000, GS150 is Rs.232,000, GS150SE is Rs.249,000 and GR150 is Rs.339,000.
Similarly, Yamaha Motor Pakistan Limited has announced an increase in prices of various models from Rs 21,000 to Rs 23,500 with effect from June 3.
After the increase, YB 125Z 2 lakh 31 thousand 500, YBRZDX 2 lakh 48 thousand 500, YBR 125 2 lakh 55 thousand, YBRG (red / black) 2 lakh 65 thousand 500 and YBR 125G (dark gray) became Rs. 268,500.
Karachi Motorcycle Dealers Association (KMDA) has informed the consumers that Sindh Excise and Taxation Department Motorcycle Registration Wing has increased the number plate price from Rs. 950 to Rs. 1450 to be tolerated by the motorcycle buyers It will be the responsibility of the department to issue the number plate.
Earlier, Atlas Honda Limited had increased the price up to Rs 9,000, after which some Chinese bike assemblers had announced an increase of Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000.
