Indian court declared Muslim man marriage with a Hindu girl illegal

An Indian court has given a verdict on a case related to the marriage of a Muslim man and a Hindu woman.

According to the Indian media ‘India Today’, the High Court of Madhya Pradesh has declared the marriage of a Muslim man with a Hindu woman illegal.

According to ‘India Today’, the Indian court has declared the marriage of a Muslim man to a Hindu woman invalid under Muslim Personal Law.

In its decision, the Indian court has also rejected the request for police protection to register an inter-faith marriage under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.

According to the report of ‘India Today’, Justice Girpal Singh of the Madhya Pradesh Court has said in his remarks that a marriage between a Muslim man and a Hindu woman cannot be considered an ‘irregular’ marriage even under Muslim law. Even if it is under the Special Marriage Act.

It should be noted that the Indian court had said in its order on May 27 that according to the Muslim law (Mahomedan law), the marriage of a Hindu woman who worships idols or fire is not permissible with a Muslim man. Does not allow marriage to a woman.

The Indian court has further stated in its decision that the marriage of a Muslim man and a Hindu woman, in which both adhere to the principles of their respective religions after marriage, such a marriage cannot be declared valid.

The court has given this decision after hearing a petition filed by a married Muslim man and a Hindu woman.

According to Indian media, the Hindu woman’s family has opposed this interfaith marriage.

According to the lawyer of the family of a Hindu woman who married a Muslim man, the said couple wanted to get married under the Special Marriage Act, but the woman was not willing to change her religion.

On the other hand, the Muslim boy was also not in favor of changing his religion, so they could not get married, that’s why the couple knocked on the door of the court.
