IT took just a few minutes for Imran Khan, the former prime minister and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to break a world record on the Internet and possibly Twitter at night.
According to the media reports, more than 446,000 users from all over the world interacted with Imran Khan through Spaces, an audio live feature on Twitter.
At one time, the average number of users listening to the former prime minister was 165,000.
His speech was also streamed live on other platforms like Facebook and Instagram, where thousands of users watched him.
However, the special thing for the PTI supporters inside and outside Pakistan was that they could express their support and concern with their leader.
An anxious supporter asked Imran Khan, “How are you?” The live session ended after more than an hour.
In response to a question about the dangers to his life at today’s rally in Lahore, Imran Khan said that he would attend the rally no matter what will happen.
He said that Minar-e-Pakistan is a special place because the resolution of Pakistan was presented there.
The former prime minister went on to say that the Muslims of India had decided that they wanted a separate house (land).
He said that we will also start our independence movement in Lahore. I am sure that a record number of people will come.
The PTI chief said he did not expect such a large crowd to come out in support of him after the fall of his government.
What was it? “I was very happy when I saw the people because I saw a nation emerge, the first time I saw where we should have been 75 years ago,” he added.
Describing the protests by Pakistanis abroad as “unprecedented”, the former prime minister said the conspiracies would no longer work because people had become politically conscious.
